Board of Directors Elections End May 7

The American Booksellers Association’s main store members have until midnight on Monday, May 7, to submit their electronic ballots for the election of three directors to serve three-year terms on the ABA Board. A link to the ballot was sent to stores on April 6 in an e-mail from ABA CEO Oren Teicher.

In addition to the three candidates put forth by the Nominating Committee and approved by the Board, the ballot includes space for write-in candidates. Only one person per ABA Member ID number may vote.

The candidates on this year’s ballot are:

• Betsy Burton of The King’s English Bookshop [1] in Salt Lake City, Utah
• Valerie Koehler of Blue Willow Bookshop [2] in Houston, Texas
• Jonathon Welch of Talking Leaves…Books [3] in Buffalo, New York

In June, ABA President Becky Anderson of Anderson’s Bookshops [5] in Naperville, Illinois, and Vice President Steve Bercu of BookPeople [6] in Austin, Texas, will begin the second year of their two-year terms on the Board.
