September Workshop Presents Essentials for New and Prospective Booksellers

The Bookstore Training Group of Paz & Associates will present the workshop retreat “Owning a Bookstore: The Business Essentials [1]” from Monday, September 10, through Friday, September 14, in Amelia Island, Florida (near Jacksonville). The intensive training program offers those who are exploring the possibility of opening or buying a bookstore, as well as new owners, with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals and best practices of retail and indie bookselling.

The week will cover such key topics as planning and managing your money, using a computerized management system to effectively manage your inventory, creating a special sense of place, delivering exceptional customer service, and more.

Co-sponsored by the American Booksellers Association, the workshop facilitated by Donna Paz Kaufman and Mark Kaufman will also feature guest trainers with a range of expertise.
