This week, Publishers Lunch released Buzz Books 2013: Spring/Summer [1], a free e-book of pre-publication excerpts from 28 highly anticipated books set to go on sale between March and July. Close to half of the excerpts (11 titles) will also be featured at this month’s Winter Institute [2].
[1]Buzz Books 2013 is offered in consumer, international, and trade editions. The trade edition — found at PublishersMarketplace.com [1] and through NetGalley [3] — features extensive trade information for each title. Full digital galleys for most titles are also available to the trade on request from NetGalley, via click-throughs in the trade edition.
In addition to the e-version of Buzz Books, ABA member booksellers will have access to a 480-page printed galley, complete with color jackets. Copies will be sent in the March White Box mailing and will be available in the Winter Institute’s Galley Room.
The free consumer edition of Buzz Books is available in the U.S. on all major e-book platforms, including Kobo [4] and from retailers served by Ingram. It includes an extensive overview of the spring/summer publishing season, with more than 100 titles to look out for, and click-throughs to pre-order or buy the full books on major platforms.
Website banners and instructions for promoting free downloads from IndieCommerce sites are available on the IndieCommerce.com Promotions page [5].
Publishers Lunch founder Michael Cader noted that pairing Buzz Books with the Winter Institute reinforces Wi8 as a “launch point” for notable spring/summer releases and provides substantial samples to booksellers who are unable to attend the event in Kansas City, Missouri.
