ABA Announces 2012 Spring Forum Schedule

On March 8, representatives of the American Booksellers Association (Board members and senior staff) will be hitting the road for the first in this year’s series of spring Booksellers Forums. These open forums are designed to provide member booksellers with the opportunity to share ideas, discuss industry issues, and receive updates on various association projects. In addition, at each of the 10 forums, there will be an educational session drawn from the recently concluded Winter Institute.

The forums will run from March 8 through April 25.

This season’s educational component will be “The Best of Wi7’s Best Practices Sessions.” The 2012 Winter Institute featured a series of 12 half-hour “Best Practices” sessions on everything from children’s bookselling, human resources, and Google Analytics to marketing your store as a digital location, empowering your indie business alliance, and more. Join ABA at the forums for “The Best of the Best,” a roundup of booksellers’ top tips from Wi7. The “Best of Best” will also be presented in March at the Great American Bargain Book Show in Atlanta.

Below is a look at the schedule to date. Watch for updates in upcoming editions of BTW and for invitations with complete details arriving via e-mail from ABA’s Member Relationship Managers (MRM) closer to the program in your area.

Questions about the schedule should also be addressed to ABA’s MRMs (Nathan Halter in the GLIBA, MIBA, MPIBA, PNBA, and SIBA regions or Kaitlin Pitcher in the NAIBA, NCIBA, NEIBA, and SCIBA regions).
