ABA Book Buyer's Handbook Update for the Week of August 12

Below is a brief outline of the most significant recent changes to the ABA Book Buyer's Handbook online. There have been a number of distribution changes since LPC Group stopped fulfilling orders. ABA staff is seeking information on a number of other publishers previously distributed by LPC.

All publishers are asked to inform ABA immediately of changes in distribution arrangements, terms, etc. Booksellers are strongly encouraged to alert ABA of changing terms and new distribution arrangements that come to their attention.

A form is available at http://handbook.bookweb.org/form.jsp that booksellers and publishers can use to report changing terms. Watch BTW for news of the launch of the Publisher Administration section of the Handbook site, within the next few weeks. The Publishers Administration pages will allow publishers to update their company information at any time and will allow them to submit news of special offers that will be posted on the Handbook site for the duration of the offer. All companies currently in the Handbook will shortly receive a letter, which will include their company access code.

Recent changes that have been made to the ABA Book Buyer's Handbook online:

Bluewood Books is now distributed by S.C.B. Distributors.

CavanKerry Press, Ltd. is now distributed by Small Press Distributors.

Diamond Comic Distributors is now distributing Idea and Design Works, LLC and Top Shelf Productions.

Independent Publishers Group now distributes: CCH Consumer Media Group; Chrome Dreams; Vehicule Press.

Cross Generation Comics is now distributed by Client Distribution Services.

Dalkey Archive Press has changed its office and ordering address to Illinois State University, 8905, Normal, IL 61790-8905. Damaged/defective and overstock returns address has changed to University of Nebraska Press, 800 R St., Lincoln, NE 68508.

Ocean Press is now distributed by Consortium Book Sales & Distribution.

Penguin Putnam, Inc. has added a new imprint: Gotham Books.
