With ABA Dues Renewal, A New Poster
ABA Vice President Becky Anderson unveils the “Eat Sleep Read Local” and “Snack Nap Read” posters at Winter Institute 6. |
By now, all ABA member stores should have received their 2011 dues renewal notices in the mail. Upon renewal, stores will receive the new “Eat Sleep Read Local” poster, unveiled by ABA Vice President Becky Anderson at last month’s Winter Institute. As Anderson told booksellers at Wi6, the new poster was created, “because the IndieBound movement continues to grow and evolve, and because shopping local has become a focus nationwide.”
Booksellers may also opt to join the new ABC Children’s Group, which is the result of the merger of the Association of Booksellers for Children with ABA approved by the ABC membership this past fall. Membership in the ABC Children’s Group is free for the first year – the $50 fee to join the group has been waived – and members will receive all of the benefits previously provided by ABC, plus a “Snack Nap Read” poster. Former members of ABC are automatically opted into the ABA ABC Children’s Group and will receive the “Snack Nap Read” poster on renewal of ABA membership.
Member stores are encouraged to contact their Member Relationship Manager – either Elizabeth Nichols or Kaitlin Pitcher – with questions, or to bring their accounts up to date. Renewal notices call for a reply by February 28.
