ABA to Offer Events Specialty Institute
This week, the American Booksellers Association announced that it will be offering an Events Specialty Institute for member bookstores.
The one-day institute will be held on Wednesday, October 3, at The Depot in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition, attendees are invited to an opening reception the night before, on Tuesday, October 2.
The Events Special Institute is being held in conjunction with the Midwest Independent Booksellers Association and the Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association Heartland Fall Forum, their first combined fall regional trade show. The Events Specialty Institute will end in time for booksellers to attend the trade show’s opening reception, on Wednesday evening, October 3.
The institute’s educational programming will cover a range of topics for both seasoned booksellers and for those who need more introductory-level programming.
The Event Specialty Institute is open only to ABA bookstore members, and attendance will be capped at 100. Watch upcoming issues of BTW for full program details and registration costs.
Last week, ABA announced it will also be offering an IndieCommerce Specialty Institute this fall. The one-day institute will be held on Thursday, September 13, in White Plains, New York. In addition, booksellers will be able to make reservations with IndieCommerce staff for one-on-one sessions on Wednesday, September 12, and Friday, September 14.
