Audio & Paperback Nominations Needed

There are two remaining opportunities this month to nominate titles for upcoming Book Sense Picks lists:

• Friday, April 14 is the deadline for the Audiobooks Top Ten, and
• Friday April 21 is the deadline for the Summer Paperback Picks list.

"With the growing popularity of audio among consumers, we hope that the audio list will offer independent booksellers a great range of titles and a useful marketing opportunity," said Dan Cullen, Book Sense Picks editor-in-chief. According to the Audio Publishers Association, audiobook sales topped $800 million in 2004, the latest year for which figures are available.

Booksellers are encouraged to send nominations for audio titles they are enthusiastically handselling to picks@booksense.com. Nominations may also be sent via an online nomination form.

The Summer Paperback list -- one of the most popular with customers -- is perfect for nominations of titles that booksellers may have previously recommended in hardcover for store newsletters, on shelf-talkers, or on store websites.
