BEA Online Registration Now Open

This week, BookExpo America announced the opening of online registration for this year's trade show, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from Thursday, May 28, through Sunday, May 31, 2009.

Under a new initiative announced last month, all ABA regular bookstore and provisional members are eligible for free admission to this spring's show; however, the number of free badges a member receives is based on a store's sales volume and participation in the 2009 Winter Institute. To receive free admission to BEA, bookstore members authorize ABA to provide BEA show officials with the number of badges that they're entitled to receive by completing a simple form on BookWeb.org. Specific sales data provided to ABA for dues calculation purposes will be kept strictly confidential.

All ABA members planning to attend the trade show must register via the BEA website; ABA is simply providing BEA with information about the number of free badges for which a member store is eligible.

Reservations for this year's Hotel ABA, the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, is via the Marriott's dedicated web page, exclusively for the use of ABA bookstore and provisional members.

In related news, this week ABA has announced the lineup for its Thursday, May 28, "Day of Education," which returns to the Javits Convention Center. (Read more.)
