Board Ballot Deadline May 7
Voting for the 2012 American Booksellers Association Board of Directors elections, which began last Friday, April 6, will end on Monday, May 7. All ABA main store members were sent a link to the ballot in an e-mail from ABA CEO Oren Teicher last week.
All of the voting is being conducted electronically, as approved by a 2009 Bylaws amendment. Only one person per ABA Member ID number may vote.
This year’s ballot puts forth three director candidates for three-year terms (2012 - 2015):
- Betsy Burton of The King’s English Bookshop in Salt Lake City, Utah
- Valerie Koehler of Blue Willow Bookshop in Houston, Texas
- Jonathon Welch of Talking Leaves…Books in Buffalo, New York
The ballot also includes space for write-in candidates.
This year’s ballot does not include a slate of Board officers. In June, ABA President Becky Anderson of Anderson’s Bookshops in Naperville, Illinois, and Vice President Steve Bercu of BookPeople in Austin, Texas, will begin the second year of their two-year terms.
Booksellers with questions about the director elections should contact ABA President Becky Anderson or CEO Oren Teicher.
