Booksellers New Zealand Monitors Earthquake Effects
Booksellers New Zealand is closely monitoring the effects of Tuesday’s devastating earthquake on its members in Christchurch, including their staff and families. Booksellers NZ is posting relevant, up-to-date news from booksellers, publishers, and others on a dedicated webpage, accessible here.
The organization has also set up a page for those who would like to share “messages of hope for Christchurch booksellers.”
Messages of support and offers of help have come from sister organizations around the world, including ABA and the Australian, Canadian, and U.K. booksellers associations.
NACS Partners With BookRenter
The National Association of College Stores (NACS) has formed a strategic partnership with BookRenter “to help college stores become the ultimate source of affordable textbooks.” Through its subsidiary NACSCORP, NACS will begin offering three new BookRenter services to its 3,100 member stores:
- RapidReturns™: BookRenter’s RapidReturn drop-off service allows students to easily return any textbook rentals to a NACS member college store at the end of a rental period.
- BookRenter Inventory Purchase and Fulfillment: NACS college stores will be able to sell inventory to any BookRenter Partner store’s customer directly from its own inventory shelves.
- BookRenter local warehousing: NACS college stores will also be able to function as local BookRenter warehouses, shortening the delivery time to nearby students, further reducing textbook rental prices.
More information about the BookRenter and the NACS partnership is available at www.bookrenter.com, or at the BookRenter and NACS booths at this weekend’s CAMEX.
