Sale of Dartmouth Bookstore Close
The sale of the Dartmouth Bookstore in Hanover, New Hampshire, is nearly final, store manager David Cioffi told The Dartmouth on April 30, making it the first time in the store's history that an outsider will operate the family-run bookstore. The Stebbinses have owned the bookstore continuously for 132 years, the article noted. A final agreement is close with one potential buyer (though there are still one or two other interested parties) and the deal should be completed within 30 to 60 days, Cioffi told The Dartmouth. He also said he did not foresee any changes in staff as all potential buyers have agreed to give first priority to current store employees when hiring, the college newspaper noted.
