Contest Offers Chance to Win an Indie Getaway

Independent We Stand, a shop local movement spearheaded by STIHL Inc., an independent manufacturer of outdoor power equipment, is sponsoring a contest that offers entrants the chance to win a getaway to an independently owned resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

In an effort to grow the movement, Independent We Stand is asking contest entrants to simply recommend their favorite locally owned business for a chance to win a three-day stay for two at the Lago Mar Resort and Club. Independent booksellers can enter themselves and their indie neighbors, and they can ask customers to do the same. The deadline for entries, via the Independent We Stand website, is midnight on April 30.

Independent We Stand is a shop local movement that, in the spirit of Indiebound, exists to connect more people to independently owned businesses in their communities and to provide educational materials regarding the importance of local spending. Independent We Stand participated in January’s Advocates for Independent Retail (AIR) Summit hosted by ABA.
