Exclusive, Affordable Rate at BEA Host Hotel for Independent Booksellers Still Available
ABA member booksellers planning to attend BookExpo America (BEA), May 28 - June 1, in Los Angeles, can still take advantage of an exclusive, money-saving hotel deal put together by ABA and BEA.
Beginning on May 25 and extending to June 7, the Radisson Wilshire Plaza will become the exclusive host hotel for independent booksellers. The overwhelming majority of the hotel's rooms have been reserved for ABA bookstore members only, for the low price of $111 a night. The Radisson Wilshire is an independently owned, business-style franchise hotel located fewer then 15 minutes from the Los Angeles Convention Center.
In addition to the affordable room rate, the Radisson Wilshire Plaza will also offer booksellers a complementary continental breakfast; special shuttle bus service to the convention center; an exclusive hotel hospitality suite; a special concierge table where booksellers can pick up BEA badge-holders, copies of the BEA exhibitors' guide, updated information about convention events, and a welcome package with special surprises from ABA and publishers; and exclusive access to exhibitors' materials, including publishers' catalogs and ARCs.
The hotel also offers a wide range of amenities including two restaurants and in-room Internet access, and a wide range of restaurants are also within walking distance of the hotel.
The BEA Radisson Wilshire Plaza independent-bookseller hotel package is being offered on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve an $111-a-night room rate, either by calling (800) 395-4262 or by clicking on "Travel Info" on the BEA Web site at www.bookexpoamerica.com, booksellers must indicate that they are interested in the "ABA Sub-block" and provide the appropriate password. (The password is available to ABA bookseller members only at http://www.bookweb.org/s-bin/hl_read/5989.) Failure to indicate interest in the ABA Sub-block may result in a false notification that rooms are no longer available.
