Forum Program in California Next Week, Then Iowa

California booksellers are invited to an ABA Booksellers Forum and Education Program in San Francisco and Huntington Beach on Sunday, April 2, and Tuesday, April 4, respectively. The programs are being held in conjunction with the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association's (NCIBA) Spring Gathering and the Southern California Booksellers Association (SCBA) Spring Meeting. All members of ABA and the regional associations are invited to attend.

San Francisco

The NCIBA Gathering will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Fort Mason Center, not far from NCIBA's offices. ABA programming at the event includes:

  • 9:45 a.m.: Handselling: Customer Service With Results
  • 1:30 p.m.: Booksellers Forum

Huntington Beach

The SCBA Spring Meeting at the Hilton Waterfront Hotel in Huntington Beach will include ABA's:

  • 10:15 a.m.: Booksellers Forum
  • 1:45 p.m.: How to Do a Customer Survey

Iowa City

ABA invites bookstore owners and staff in the Midwest to a Booksellers Forum on Saturday, April 8, at the University of Iowa Memorial Union in Iowa City, Iowa. The event is in conjunction with the Midwest Booksellers Association (MBA) Spring Meeting. All members of MBA and ABA are welcome to participate in the free program. ABA highlights include:

  • 9:00 a.m.: Increasing Margin: An Advanced Course in Growing Your Bottom
  • 11:45 a.m.: Booksellers Forum and Luncheon
  • 1:45 p.m.: Marketing Your Website
  • 6:00 p.m: ABA- and MBA-sponsored Cocktail Reception
