Free E-Book Creates Buzz for Fall Titles
Bookstores can now start promoting sales of more than 30 of the fall season’s “buzz” books, thanks to a free e-book out this week from Publishers Lunch. Buzz Books 2012 brings together substantial excerpts from featured titles at next month’s BookExpo America, including new works from the likes of Junot Diaz, Barbara Kingsolver, Mark Helprin, and Dennis Lehane, as well as debut authors such as Amanda Coplin, Peter Heller, and Scott Hutchins.
Buzz Books 2012 is available in both trade and consumer editions. The trade version, available for download via Publishers Marketplace, provides booksellers with detailed publisher rights, publicity, and promotion information, including contacts, as well as information on BEA promotions and giveaways. In addition, nearly all of the excerpts click through to NetGalley, where registered users can either download the full digital galley or request it from the publisher.
The consumer e-book edition of Buzz Books 2012 is available through a wide range of e-book platforms and stores, including ABA IndieCommerce websites. The consumer version features all of the excerpts, but does not include the trade and BEA-related information.
Web banners and a link for IndieCommerce stores to highlight Buzz Books 2012 as a customer giveaway are now available on IndieCommerce.com. A limited number of print copies of the book will be available for promotional purposes in the ABA Booksellers Lounge (Room 1E07/08 of the Javits Center) at BEA and a copy will be included in the June ABA White Box.
