GMA Book Club Selects First Young Adult Novel

On Thursday, January 22, it was announced that The Second Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares (Delacorte Press) is the new selection of ABC News' Good Morning America "Read This!" Book Club, and the first young adult novel ever to be featured by the club. The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, a Summer 2003 Children's Book Sense 76 pick, is the sequel to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Bookseller Sara Yu of Bank Street Bookstore in New York City, who nominated The Second Summer of the Sisterhood for the Book Sense 76, had this to say about it: "Hip, realistic, and smart, Second Summer is a sequel that really is better than the first. This time around, the girls delve into their feelings about their families, particularly their mothers, and find out some things about themselves in the process."
