New Book Site Aims for Twenty-Somethings

TheBookReportNetwork.com has launched 20SomethingReads.com, an editorial book site aimed at readers in their twenties looking to find new titles, write their own reviews, and suggest titles to their peers. The site includes reviews of adult fiction, nonfiction, young adult, and graphic novels, as well as features, interviews, blogs, and contests.

"We created 20SomethingReads, because we saw a gap in the marketplace,” said Carol Fitzgerald, president of TheBookReportNetwork.com. “This audience was being overlooked with targeted marketing, and we thought that they would respond to a website curated specifically towards their reading habits.”

Fitzgerald noted that the new website provides opportunities for independent booksellers. She encourages booksellers to submit their handselling favorites for twenty-somethings to the site and to spread the word among customers. Friends and customers of indies are invited to write profiles of their favorite bookstores and submit them to be showcased on 20SomethingReads. Fitzgerald will provide interested stores with an outline of what customers should cover.

20SomethingReads is the seventh addition to TheBookReportNetwork.com’s sites, which include two others aimed at specific demographics, Teenreads.com and Kidsreads.com, as well as three special interest sites, ReadingGroupGuides.com, GraphicNovelReporter.com, and FaithfulReader.com. Plans call for the entire network of sites to be integrated by the end of June.
