University Book Store Selected for 2009 IBF Calendar

Among the 25 bookshops selected for the International Booksellers Federation's 2009 "People in Bookshops" calendar is one entry from the U.S. -- a photo of University Book Store in Seattle, Washington, submitted by Bryan Pearce. The photo was chosen from more than 180 submissions from bookshops around the world.

The 2009 IBF calendar, which will be completed this spring, will go on sale at the London Book Fair. The calendar will also be for sale at the European Booksellers Federation/International Booksellers Federation Amsterdam Conference, at the Frankfurt Book Fair, and via the IBF Secretariat.

The Selection Committee for IBF's third bookshops calendar was chaired by former European Booksellers Federation (EBF) president and IBF Council member Doris Stockmann. Other members of the committee were past IBF presidents Yvonne Steinberger and Eric Hardin; current IBF president Karl Pus; EBF president John McNamee; and American Booksellers Association president Russ Lawrence of Chapter One Bookstore in Hamilton, Montana.
