Wholesalers Extend Holiday Hours

'Tis the season when book orders take on a much greater sense of urgency, and, to accommodate the holiday rush, most wholesalers will be extending their hours. Here's a rundown of the holiday hours as provided by major wholesalers.

From November 24 through December 15, Baker & Taylor's extended phone ordering hours will be:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. EST
• Saturday and Sunday, noon - 6:00 p.m. EST

After December 15, B&T's normal ordering hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. will apply.

From November 19 through December 24, Bookazine's phone ordering hours will be:

• Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. EST
• Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. EST
• Sunday, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. EST

Bookazine will be closed on November 22, December 25, and January 1.

Orders received by a bookstore's normal cutoff time Monday through Friday will ship the same day; orders received between 12:01 a.m. Saturday and 6:00 p.m. Sunday will receive priority shipping Monday morning and earn an additional one percent discount.

For New York City local customers only: Orders received by 11:00 a.m. receive the same day delivery, available through December 24. New York City booksellers should contact their representative for the Saturday delivery schedule.

Beginning November 23, BookStream's holiday hours will be:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. EST
• Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST

BookStream has a holiday offer available: When a bookstore has 10 or more units shipped (excluding calendars, which are always 45 percent), the store receives a 43 percent discount and free freight instead of BookStream's usual no minimums, 42 percent, and free freight.

From November 23 through December 31, the distributors' holiday hours will be:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

The distributors will be closed December 25 and January 1.

Ingram's customer service hours will not change for the holiday season. The hours will remain:

• 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. CST, seven days a week

Hours of operation (including shipping, packing, and receiving) will remain:

• Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. - 12:30 a.m. CST
• Sunday, 7:00 a.m. - 12:30 a.m. CST

However, toward the end of November, Ingram will begin Saturday operations hours.

Beginning Monday, November 26, Partners' hours are as follows:

• Monday through Friday, November 26 through December 21, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. EST
• Saturday, December 1, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. EST
• Saturday, December 8, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. EST
• Saturday, December 15, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. EST
• Monday, December 24, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. EST

Partners/West Book Distributors' holiday hours will be as follows:

• Monday through Friday, November 26 through December 21, 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. PST
• Saturday, December 1, through Saturday, December 22, open Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PST

Partners/West will resume usual operating hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. PST, Monday through Friday, on Wednesday, December 26. Partners/West will be closed on November 22, December 25, and January 1.
