ABA/GLBA Booksellers Forum Sparks New Ideas

On Tuesday, May 3, over 20 booksellers attended an ABA Booksellers Forum and Education Program, held in conjunction with the Great Lakes Booksellers Association (GLBA), at the new Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lyndhurst, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland).

Remembering the Maine Forum

On Wednesday, April 20, ABA held its first-ever spring Booksellers Forum in Maine, the second event of the season in cooperation with the New England Booksellers Association (NEBA). The event, at the Portland Public Library, included ABA's education session "Renegotiating a Lease" and an open forum discussion.

Season's Last Booksellers Forum in Ohio on Tuesday

ABA will be holding its last Booksellers Forum and Education Program of the season at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lyndhurst, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 3. The event is in cooperation with the Great Lakes Booksellers Association (GLBA).

Idea Exchange This Week

The Education Forum on BookWeb's Idea Exchange was recently created to give ABA member booksellers an opportunity to learn and share thoughts and experiences, ask questions, and offer suggestions and tips on the material presented in ABA's various education programs, including "The 2% Solution." The forum is intended for bookseller-to-bookseller interaction, though ABA staff does moderate the postings and respond to questions when appropriate.

First Kansas City Forum a Hit

On Saturday, April 16, the American Booksellers Association held its second spring Booksellers Forum and Education Program in conjunction with the Midwest Booksellers Association. The event was held at the Brio Italian Restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri. ABA's first program in the MBA region this year was held in March in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Booksellers from the around the Great Lakes region -- established, new, and prospective -- attended a day-long ABA Booksellers Forum and Education Program, held in conjunction with the Great Lakes Booksellers Association, on Tuesday, April 12, at Mitchell's Books in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

ABA Programming Adds to Energy at MPBA Spring Meeting

The Mountains and Plains Booksellers Association (MPBA) held its Spring Meeting at the Marriott Denver Tech Center in Colorado from Thursday, March 31, to Saturday, April 2. On Friday, an ABA Booksellers Forum and Education Program was held in conjunction with the meeting.
