BookSense.com On the Move ...
Here's a look at some exciting new improvements to participating BookSense.com member websites:
- Many BookSense.com participants reported problems with BookSense.com e-mail over the past month. Now, BookSense.com has successfully replaced its e-mail server, and normal service has been restored. Any bookseller who sees any strange behavior with e-mail should let their customer service rep (either Scott or Suzanne) know as soon as possible.
- Booksellers that feature their Events section on their home page should note that the section will now reflect all events scheduled on one single day. For example, for booksellers who have an afternoon story time and an evening author signing on the same day, both events will be listed on the bookseller's BookSense.com home page.
- BookSense.com has removed the dropdown box that lets customers choose between a "keyword," "title," or "author" search. By simply calling it "Search" and having it default to a keyword search, it significantly expanded the blank field into which customers type search queries.
- It has been widely reported that a new service offered by Google automatically creates links to Amazon.com when their system finds an ISBN on a Web page. We have reformatted our ISBNs to prevent Google from adding Amazon.com links to participants' websites.
Booksellers with questions about customer service, new features, or anything else, may e-mail BookSense.com Director Len Vlahos at len@booksense.com, or the BookSense.com staff at staff@booksense.com.
