BookSense.com On the Move ...
Here's a look at some exciting new functionalities recently added to BookSense.com, as well as some important customer service news.
New Features: In addition to fixing a few bugs, last week BookSense.com added three new, exciting pieces of functionality:
- BookSense.com is now requiring consumers to enter the CVV code from their credit cards. The CVV code is the three- or four-digit number that appears on all Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards. This security measure should help cut down on the number of fraudulent orders.
- The order number now appears in the subject line of the e-mail acknowledgement sent to customers when an order is placed.
- Since the Book Sense paper gift certificate program is winding down, booksellers can now optionally remove the "Gift Certificate" icon that appears at the top of the left-hand navigation bar on their consumer website. To disable the icon, booksellers should navigate to their admin page, click on "Preferences" (at the bottom of the left-hand -- orange -- navigation bar), and unclick the "Enable" button next to "Gift Certificates." For booksellers using Gift Cards, the Gift Certificate link has already been disabled. (The Gift Card link cannot, at this time, be disabled.)
Booksellers with questions about these changes should contact BookSense.com Customer Service at staff@booksense.com.
Speaking of customer service...
Customer Service News: Most BookSense.com participants have had occasion to speak with either Scott Nafz or Suzanne McDonald during the course of their participation in the program. Now, BookSense.com is assigning either Nafz or McDonald to be their specific account rep.
BookSense.com feels that by giving booksellers a specific person to contact -- who will, from time to time, contact the store -- it can serve booksellers better and help them get the most out of the product.
In the next couple of weeks, Nafz and McDonald will be sending an e-mail to their respective BookSense.com member accounts to introduce, or reintroduce, themselves.
Booksellers with questions about customer service, new features, or anything else, may e-mail BookSense.com Director Len Vlahos at len@booksense.com, or the BookSense.com staff at staff@booksense.com.
