Deadlines Approach for Four Book Sense Picks Lists
Independent booksellers with Book Sense still have time to send in nominations for several upcoming lists.
The key deadlines are:
- The Summer Children's Book Sense Picks -- March 26
- The Book Sense Audiobooks Top Ten -- April 2
- The Book Sense D-Day (WW II) History Top Ten -- April 2
- The June Book Sense Picks -- April 9
Nominations can be sent directly to Book Sense Picks Editor-in-Chief Dan Cullen at dan@booksense.com or through a Web form at www.bookweb.org/read/6305.
A few key points about the lists:
- It's best if nominations for the audiobooks list highlight some of the reasons the titles are notable, that is, the narrator, production values, etc.
- June 6, 2004, will mark the 60th anniversary of D-Day, the allied assault on Normandy. In June, The History Channel (THC) will air a week of specially themed programming focusing on D-Day and the war in Europe. Book Sense is producing the D-Day (WWII) list in conjunction with this, the third time we've worked on a list with THC. It's an outstanding partnership, and we're very hopeful this will be a superb list. (There's going to be an amazing amount of consumer interest in this anniversary.) Nominations for this list can be either frontlist or backlist titles in either hardcover or paper. The word "D-Day" should appear in the subject line of the e-mail.
Many thanks for all your contributions!
