Film Company Offers Promos, Giveaways

Music Box Films will release the final film in the Stieg Larsson Millennium trilogy, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, on Friday, October 29. To help booksellers continue to capitalize on the Millennium buzz, the film company is offering free passes, a free documentary, and a chance for consumers to win a trip to Sweden.

Promotional materials available from Music Box Films include:

  • Free Movie Passes: Several pairs of free movie passes for The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest to be used as consumer giveaways, which stores can promote via e-mail blast, in-store signage, and social media promotions (in participating markets).
  • A Special Documentary Screening: A free 50-minute documentary that explores Stieg Larsson’s life and the Millennium trilogy is available to booksellers. Contact Music Box Films' Paige Blake at pblake@musicboxfilms.com.
  • Online Sweepstakes: The 2010 Larsson’s Sweden Sweepstakes includes round-trip air for two via SAS to Stockholm, passes to explore Larsson’s Stockholm, three nights in the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel, and one night in Sandhamn. Entries must be received by November 1, 2010.
  • Displays: To help booksellers capitalize on local movie screenings, build excitement about the books, and fuel sales, Music Box Films will provide mini-posters and full-size posters for use in creating in-store and window displays.

Booksellers with questions about how to participate in any of these promotions should contact Music Box Films’ Paige Blake at pblake@musicboxfilms.com.
