Houghton Mifflin to Participate in BookSense.com Co-op Program
BookSense.com has announced that Houghton Mifflin will join the BookSense.com Co-op Reimbursement Program starting this January. "We're participating in the BookSense.com co-op program to support Book Sense and to be supportive of every new program it offers -- and to be one of the early birds," said Houghton Mifflin's Carla Gray. "It's a great way to get titles onto booksellers' Web sites and displayed in their stores."
The co-op program is designed to help publishers both promote and increase the sales of their books. Furthermore, it gives booksellers a way to claim unused newsletter co-op -- which can then be used to offset a significant portion of the monthly cost of their BookSense.com Web sites.
Houghton Mifflin will be promoting five titles in the BookSense.com program: Mosque by David Macaulay, The Secrets of Baking by Sherry Yard, Empress Orchid by Anchee Min, The Mystery of Breathing by Perri Klass, and The Guru of Love by Samrat Upadhyay.
"We're very excited to have Houghton join the program," said BookSense.com Director Len Vlahos. "This will provide booksellers with that much more variety in choosing which titles to promote online and in the store."
