New Guide Makes Customizing IndieBound Easy
IndieBound has created a handy, new guide for booksellers who have been longing to take advantage of the wealth of customizable materials in the Bookseller Do-It-Yourself, but who have been afraid to take the plunge. "Design & Production 101 (Do-It-Yourself Is Easier Than You Think)" will have store staff creating customized posters, T-shirts, and more in no time, all with freely available graphic design software.
By learning how to DIY, booksellers can control what their promotional materials look like and ensure their appeal to the store's customer base. "Design & Production 101" provides a quick overview and tips on DIY, resources and technical information, and step-by-step instructions for three projects.
For booksellers who don't have Adobe Photoshop, the guide provides instructions using The GIMP, a free program for Windows, Macs, or Linux, that offers a ton of easy-to-use functionality. Using the GIMP's design tools and with the guide's step-by-step instructions, even the most technically challenged booksellers will soon be adding their store logos to the IndieBound window decal, customizing T-shirts, and creating unique IndieBound posters.
