Wi8 Website Features Growing List of Authors
The Winter Institute 8 website, wi8.bookweb.org, is the place to find the very latest on everything related to the American Booksellers Association’s upcoming education event in Kansas City, Missouri. The site, which is constantly being updated, includes program and special event details, registration and hotel waiting lists, travel information, and more. A new feature of the institute website this year is a special page featuring biographical information for the many authors scheduled to take part in the three days of educational programming and in the ever-popular author receptions.
Biographical information for 16 authors — Sherman Alexie, NoViolet Bulawayo, Alex George, Malcolm Gladwell, Laurie Halse Anderson, Kristopher Jansma, Laura Lippman, Philip Meyer, Ruth Ozeki, Benjamin Percy, Daniel Pink, David Rhodes, Christina Schwarz, Margaret Stohl, Jeannette Walls, and Helene Wecker — is now featured, but over the next several weeks, the list will grow as more author participants are confirmed, so check back often.
Because there are waiting lists for both Bookseller Event Registration and for the Host Hotel, the Westin Kansas City at Crown Center, registered booksellers who are no longer planning to attend and anyone with hotel reservations that are no longer needed are asked to contact ABA as soon as possible so that those who are waiting can fill their places. People on the waiting lists will be contacted on a first-come, first-served basis when cancellations are received.
Wi8, sponsored by the Ingram Content Group, will be held from Saturday, February 23, through Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Westin Kansas City at Crown Center. An opening reception, sponsored by Andrews McMeel Publishing, will kick off the event, on Friday evening, February 22, at Kansas City’s Union Station.
