Reservations are now being accepted for the ABC Children’s Group Silent Auction and Reception at BEA to benefit the new ABFFE Fund for Free Speech in Children’s Books. A preview of this year’s Silent Auction artwork is available online.
Today the American Booksellers Association provides a first look at programming for its ninth annual Day of Education, to be held on Monday, May 23, at BookExpo America. The Day of Education at BEA is sponsored by the Ingram Content Group.
Booksellers and librarians can now reserve a spot for the Tea With Children’s Authors, to be held on Wednesday afternoon, May 25, at BookExpo America. Tickets for the event are $15 each.
Independent presses will host a reception for booksellers at the official ABA hotel, the Holiday Inn on 57th in midtown Manhattan, during BookExpo America 2011.
March 31 is the voting deadline for the 2011 Indies Choice Book Awards and the E.B. White Read-Aloud Awards. ABA is urging booksellers who haven’t already cast their electronic ballots to do so now.
The deadline for ABA member booksellers to send entries to BookExpo America for a chance to win either a $500 travel stipend or a free lunch at this year’s show is March 31.
Reservations for ABA’s Celebration of Bookselling Author Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, May 24, at BEA will be accepted from two booksellers at each member store on a first-come, first-served basis.
