ABA recently extended an invitation to upper Midwest booksellers to come together at a Booksellers Forum on Saturday, March 6, at the Comfort Inn Airport, in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington. The forum is part of a program that will run from 1:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and is co-sponsored by the Upper Midwest Booksellers Association (UMBA).

Booksellers Forum Convenes in D.C. Next Week

On Wednesday, February 25, ABA CEO Avin Mark Domnitz and COO Oren Teicher will meet with booksellers at an open forum at Olsson's Books & Records in downtown Washington, D.C. Held in conjunction with the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association (NAIBA), the forum is an opportunity for booksellers to ask questions, express opinions, and discuss issues relating to ABA, NAIBA, Book Sense, bookselling in general, and more.

California Site of Three Booksellers Forums Next Week

ABA's forum tour, which provides booksellers across the country with the opportunity to meet with representatives of the ABA Board of Directors and senior staff to ask questions, express opinions, and hear about the association's activities and plans for the future, will be going to California next week.

Reminder: ABA to Hold Three Forums in California This Month

This month, ABA will be holding three Booksellers Forums in California: On Wednesday, February 18, in conjunction with the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association (NCIBA) at its offices in The Presidio in San Francisco; on Friday, February 20, at Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena; and on Saturday, February 21, at Four Points Sheraton Hotel in San Diego. The Pasadena and San Diego forums will be held in conjunction with the Southern California Booksellers Association (SCBA). Representing ABA at the forums will be CEO Avin Mark Domnitz and COO Oren Teicher.

ABA Booksellers Forum to Be Held in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday, February 25, in conjunction with the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association (NAIBA), ABA is holding its Bookseller Forum at Olsson's Books & Records in downtown Washington, D.C. Olsson’s is centrally located, with convenient access by car or public transportation.

North Carolina Forum Postponed Due to Weather

The ABA Booksellers Forum scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, at McIntyre's Fine Books in Pittsboro, North Carolina, was cancelled due to snowy weather conditions up and down the East Coast. "The location of the forum required that booksellers would have to drive, and given the icy weather conditions blanketing the area, we reluctantly decided to cancel the forum and plan to reschedule sometime in the spring," said ABA COO Oren Teicher.

ABA Booksellers Forums -- California Here We Come

ABA's Booksellers Forum tour heads to California in February. The first of three forums will be held in conjunction with the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association (NCIBA) at its offices in The Presidio in San Francisco on Wednesday, February 18. Well-Attended Chicago Forum Covers Broad Range of Issues

The American Booksellers Association continued its 2004 Booksellers Forum schedule on Thursday, January 15, in Chicago, where ABA staff met with booksellers in the Great Lakes region. The ABA Booksellers Forum, held in conjunction with the Great Lakes Booksellers Association, was hosted at the Allerton Crowne Plaza, the Hotel ABA/Chicago for BookExpo America (BEA) 2004.

ABA and SEBA Booksellers Meet in Tampa

The American Booksellers Association kicked off its 2004 Booksellers Forum schedule on Friday, January 9, in Tampa, Florida, with a gathering of booksellers from the Southeast Booksellers Association region.
