Winter Institute

The first full day of educational programming at next month's Third Annual Winter Institute (Wi3) will come to a celebratory conclusion at a reception featuring more than 35 of independent booksellers' favorite authors. Thanks to the support of Wi3's publisher partners, from 6:30 p.m.

PartnerShip/FedEx will be providing on-site discount shipping for participants in the American Booksellers Association's 2008 Winter Institute who are enrolled in the ABA Discount Shipping Program.

Winter Institute registrants who are no longer planning to attend the January 24 - 27 event in Louisville, Kentucky, are asked to contact the American Booksellers Association's Program Assistant, Margaret Nafz (Margaret@bookweb.org), as soon as possible to cancel both their event and hotel reservations.

From January 24 - 27, 2008, Louisville, Kentucky, will become the center of the independent bookselling community in the U.S., when 500 bookseller-members of the American Booksellers Association converge for the Third Annual Winter Institute.

Twenty-six booksellers have been awarded publisher-sponsored scholarships to attend the American Booksellers Association's Third Annual Winter Institute in Louisville, Kentucky. The scholarships cover reasonable transportation costs and up to a three-night stay at the Wi3 host hotel, the Louisville Marriott Downtown, for the January 24 - 27 education event.

This week, the American Booksellers Association unveils the schedule for the education program on Friday and Saturday, January 25 - 26, at the Third Annual Winter Institute (Wi3).

Event and hotel registrations for the American Booksellers Association's Third Annual Winter Institute (Wi3) are currently booked to capacity. Wi3, in Louisville, Kentucky, from Thursday, January 24, through Sunday, January 27, 2008, is open exclusively to the owners and staff of ABA member bookstores and capped at 500 registrants.
