Book Sense Welcomes Its First International Publisher Partner
Book Sense is pleased to welcome Oneworld Publications, based in Oxford, England, as its first international Publisher Partner. Oneworld is distributed in the U.S. by National Book Network.
Established in 1986 by husband-and-wife team Juliet Mabey and Novin Doostdar, Oneworld Publications original mission was to publish affordable and accessible books on world religions, psychology, and social issues for general and undergraduate readers. To this day the purpose of the list remains to publish "Books for Thoughtful People," but the scope of Oneworlds publishing has increased significantly. It now has a rapidly expanding history list, as well as a new philosophy list launching this spring with the Oneworld Philosophers collection of accessible and affordable introductions to Descartes, Nietszche, Wittgenstein, and Sartre.
Along with full-length titles on various beliefs, Oneworld also publishes the Oneworld Short Guide to World Religions line, which is composed of nearly 30 different concise introductions to the doctrines, history, key figures, and major scriptures of the religious traditions of the world. These guides are widely used for college courses but are also suitable for general readers, and include titles of timely interest on Islam and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, as well as a collection entitled Words to Comfort, Words to Heal.
Book Sense welcomes Oneworld Publications to its expanding -- and now international -- family of Publisher Partners.
