Ingram Offers New Color POD Option
Ingram’s print-on-demand unit, Lightning Source, launched a new standard inkjet color book option for publishers this week.
“High-speed color inkjet printing is poised to be a real opportunity for publishers looking for more efficiency in book manufacturing and the print supply chain overall,” said Phil Ollila, chief content officer, Ingram Content Group. “Through our new inkjet color option, publishers can use print-on-demand for a whole new range of titles.”
Lightning Source will begin manufacturing color books using inkjet technology immediately for publishers worldwide from its Tennessee location and has plans to expand inkjet capability to its Pennsylvania location by the end of 2012. International expansion is expected to follow in early 2013.
NPR Reveals Top 100 Teen Books
This week, NPR unveiled the results of its annual summer reader’s survey. More than 75,000 ballots were cast to choose the Best-Ever Teen Fiction. Below is a look at the top 10; the full list of 100 books is available on the NPR website, as is the complete list of 235 finalists.
