This week, the American Booksellers Association unveiled the 2012 Indie Bestsellers Lists, featuring the year’s top-selling titles at hundreds of independent bookstores nationwide.

Twenty top titles from this year’s Indie Next lists, including each month’s #1 Indie Next Great Read and eight additional titles that garnered especially strong support from independent booksellers nationwide, are featured on the just-released 2012 Indie Next Highlights List.

Here’s a preview of the titles on the January Indie Next List flier, on its way to ABA member stores in the IndieBound movement.

The December Indie Next List’s 12 “Now in Paperback” titles are featured with bookseller quotes on a downloadable flier and shelf-talkers.

As the holiday season kicks off in full force, it is crucially important that all stores continue to report each week’s sales to the Indie Bestseller Lists. The aggregated reporting data provides ABA with hard evidence that demonstrates to publishers and other industry stakeholders the strength of local independent booksellers.

Make sure that your staff favorites will be reflected in next year’s Indie Next Lists by downloading the list of  2013 nomination deadlines and posting it in your store’s back room or wherever reading copies and ARCs are kept.
