The Nominating Committee, chaired by John Evans of DIESEL, A Bookstore in Los Angeles, Malibu, and Oakland, California, is searching for qualified candidates to serve on the ABA Board of Directors. Any ABA member may submit nominations for Board directors.

ABA Heading to SIBA Trade Show

ABA will be at the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance’s September 7 - 9  trade show in Naples, Florida, to offer an e-books education session and to meet with booksellers to hear their concerns and to share updates on ABA’s programs and initiatives.

IndieCommerce Institute 2012 Registration Now Open

The American Booksellers Association announced this week the opening of registration for the second IndieCommerce Institute (ICI). The program will take place on Thursday, September 13, 2012, with a reception on the evening of Wednesday, September 12, and opportunities for hour-long one-on-one sessions with IndieCommerce staff on Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning, September 14.

ABACUS-11 Data-Gathering Begins

The ABACUS-11 Survey process begins today with an e-mail to ABA member bookstores from the National Association of College Stores’ OnCampus Research. This year’s survey gathers financial data from 2011 store operations.
