Booksellers are invited to ABA Booksellers Forum programs in New York City and Naperville, Illinois, on April 17 and 20, respectively. Each program will feature an open discussion of industry issues and the ABA education session “The Best of Winter Institute 7’s Best Practices Sessions.”

Voting for the 2012 ABA Board of Directors elections, which began last Friday, April 6, will end on Monday, May 7. All ABA main store members were sent a link to the ballot in an e-mail from ABA CEO Oren Teicher last week.

ABA is offering the free, full-day seminar “How to Succeed at Retail Bookselling: Introduction to the Bookstore Business” in New York City on Sunday, June 3, the day before ABA’s Day of Education and the opening of BookExpo America.

In her bimonthly letter to member stores, ABA President Becky Anderson writes about some of things that Anderson’s Bookshops are doing “to keep the momentum going in our stores,”  and encourages others booksellers to do the same.

A record-breaking number of independent booksellers nationwide cast their ballots in March, and today the American Booksellers Association announces the winners of the 2012 Indies Choice Book Awards and the E.B. White Read-Aloud Awards.

The deadline for submission of petitions in support of additional candidates for the 2012 ABA Board of Directors elections is Monday, April 2.

ABA is inviting prospective booksellers to a free, full-day seminar, “How to Succeed at Retail Bookselling:  Introduction to the Bookstore Business,” on Sunday, June 3, in New York City. The program is open exclusively to ABA provisional members and employees of ABA regular member stores.
