Balloting Underway to Elect ABA Officers and Directors

Last Friday, March 29, all ABA Regular Bookstore members were e-mailed an electronic ballot for the 2013 election of American Booksellers Association officers and directors. In order to be counted, ballots must be cast by April 30, 2013.

Victory: New York Appeals Court Affirms State’s Sales Tax Fairness Law

On Thursday, March 28, the New York State Court of Appeals ruled 4-1 in favor of the state’s sales tax fairness law, dismissing arguments made by Amazon.com and Overstock.com that the law was unconstitutional.

Jewelers of America and ABA Visit Capitol Hill in Support of Sales Tax Fairness

On Tuesday, March 19, in advance of the Senate’s landslide vote in favor of sales tax fairness, ABA joined with Jewelers of America to meet with key U.S. senators and representatives in Washington, D.C., in support of the Marketplace Fairness Act (S.336/H.R.684).

Reservations Open for 2013 Celebration of Bookselling Luncheon

ABA’s 2013 Celebration of Bookselling and Author Awards Luncheon will be held on Thursday, May 30, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Javits Convention Center during BEA. Reservations are free and limited to two booksellers from each ABA member company.
