Booksellers Address Best Practices for Increasing Genre Sales

At Winter Institute 8, Towne Book Center & Cafe’s Kit Little, Boswell Book Company’s Jason Kennedy, and Mysteryscape’s Cheri LeBlond discussed their stores’ best practices for promoting sales of romance, science fiction, and mystery titles with booksellers interested in increasing their genre sales.

Eight e-book promotions were recently added to the IndieCommerce Publisher Promotions page. Categories include detective stories, YA titles, books for tax time, and about the Catholic Church and the papacy.

The Children’s Book Council and the ABC Children’s Group at ABA are inviting booksellers on a tour of children’s illustrators’ studios to give them a behind-the-scenes peek during BEA into the creative lives of today’s top talent. Registration is free and open to ABC Group at ABA bookstore members only.

Learn more about four new spring promotions created just for independent bookstores, which launched last week under the banner “Celebrate (With) Indies.” Then sign up. Kids’ Summer Reading Program to Launch in April

Next month, the ABC Children’s Group at ABA will launch “Give Me Summer! Give Me Books!” a national summer reading program for kids that is open to all ABA member bookstores.
